Moritz Thoma
Artists Bio: An image that lives, that changes color, merges with its surroundings, absorbs and reflects light. Copper oxidizes in bright red, a polished stone reveals its veins in the middle of figures painted in the style of the old masters. It shows scars, wounds that people experience over time. Just like in human development, the environment and external influences are affecting our story. The polished surfaces mirror image the opposite. Everything is a matter of perspective; right and wrong, good and bad, even the doubt about being able to grasp the opposite in its entirety. What remains are impressions full of gaps, fragments, the composition of partial subjective evaluations, which at best come close to the truth.
The munich painter vividly transports this dilemma into the picture. Moritz Thomas works can be found at private collectors and a Munich gallery.
