Marcarson

Artist Bio: Marcarson is an American painter, textile artist, and photographer whose works have been exhibited in both solo and group events in the United States. In addition, his art is featured in the Queens Museum’s permanent collection. Social and cultural commentary are part of Marcarson’s main themes and messages, which he classifies as ‘avant-garde comedy’. He creates using oils, watercolors, and pigments on canvas and paper. In 2016, Marcarson opened NOT FOR THEM, an art house/concept gallery of his own works in NYC, right behind MoMA PS1, which quickly gained recognition among artists and collectors. Marcarson’s work has an avant garde comedy, tongue in cheek approach to exploring cultural references and self experiences. He has worked with countless brands, institutions and agencies; He collaborated with media outlets such as magazine HighSnobiety or Boiler Room; in 2019, Marc Jacobs commissioned his artwork & vision for their perfume “Daisy”.
