Sara Martínez
Artist Bio: Sara Martínez Benages (b.1998) is a visual artist born in Castelló (Spain), graduated in
Fine Arts from the Universitat Politècnica de València in 2020.
In 2019, she received the Promoe scholarship to study a semester in Santiago de Chile.
Produces “Oye, qué traigo?”, exhibited in a self-managed exhibition at 353 Bellavista.
In 2020, she participates in the collective virtual exhibition of the Mi Casa project, by
Galería Álvaro Alcázar (Madrid, Spain), with her pictorial work; at the end of this year she
co-directs the multidisciplinary project “Ningú Morirà Després de Mi”, participating in the IV
Cicle Migrats at the Centro del Carmen Cultura Contemporánea (València, Spain), and
winning the residency prize.
In 2021, she makes the mural “Las Mediocre” on the free walls of the Polinizados festival
(València, Spain). She produces work for Galería Rubén Torres (Barcelona, Spain) and
she’s selected to paint a mural in the Puente to Puente Certamen for the eighth centenary
of the Cathedral of Burgos. She collaborates with Alba Boscà creating a wall as part of the
Binaural Nodar residence (Vouzela, Portugal). This same year, she makes a mural for the
Dones Per La Ciència project, promoted by Las Naves and La Universitat Politècnica de
València, a collaborative mural for MURAL/LOCAL convened by Jiser Reflexions
Mediterrànies (Barcelona, Spain). By the end of the year, she makes a multidisciplinary co-
direction at the ULTRASONS festival with the En Procés project.
In 2022, she performs his first solo show, named “Vinga, digues-me 3 cançons. Una
reflexió al voltant de les cures en espais festius”, at Galería Rubén Torres (Barcelona,
Spain).
Currently, she is studying the Master en Producción Artística at the Universitat Politècnica
de València.
