Growing up in Albuquerque, New Mexico, as the fourth child of a mixed-race family, he embraced his Japanese and Hispanic heritage. This fusion influences his work, merging the vibrant colors of his hometown with Japanese minimalism. Joshua’s current style features smooth lines, meaningful colors, and minimal shapes, aiming for simplicity and impact. For him, art is a way to harmonize different elements of identity into a cohesive whole. He uses fluid matte acrylics, inks, and Japanese brush pens, and his workspace reflects this aesthetic.
